• Team & Vision: Leading and growing a community of data professionals across analytics engineering, architecture and platform, with a clear vision for how data supports EF’s business worldwide.
• Platform Ownership: Owning the strategy and roadmap for EF’s data platform, built on Snowflake (AWS), dbt Cloud and dbt Core, orchestrated with Prefect, and delivered to the business through Power BI as our semantic and visualisation layer.
• Scaling Data Culture: Building on the standards, governance and mentoring practices established as Architecture Office lead, now at organisation-wide scale, so every team can trust the data they build on.
• Community & Industry Engagement: Representing EF externally as a speaker at dbt Summit and at local data user groups, sharing what we’ve learned building a modern data platform and staying connected to where the dbt and Snowflake ecosystem is heading.

As part of a global enterprise modernisation effort, I led the establishment of an Architecture Office within EF, supporting design initiatives across multiple domains and showing what a modern data platform can do for the business. My focus was on building a culture of collaboration, giving data teams the tools and autonomy to work efficiently, and keeping a rigorous structural framework underneath it all. This meant leading people as much as leading architecture.

• Data Strategy: Led the development of EF’s data strategy, aligning the platform roadmap with business goals and pushing data-driven decision-making across teams.
• Medallion Architecture on Snowflake & dbt: Designed and rolled out a medallion architecture across the data platform, running on Snowflake and orchestrated through dbt (Cloud and Core), improving processing reliability and storage efficiency.
• Modern Data Stack: Helped shape EF’s stack around Snowflake on AWS, dbt for transformation, Prefect for orchestration, and Power BI as the semantic and visualisation layer, replacing legacy, siloed tooling with a platform teams can build on confidently.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Managed and mentored a team of analytics engineers, growing their skills and raising the quality bar for what the team ships.
• Standards & Design Patterns: Defined and enforced data standards and design patterns across the platform, so teams could move fast without sacrificing consistency or scalability.
• Data Governance: Built and implemented data governance practices across the full pipeline, covering data quality, security and compliance.
• Measuring Impact: Designed and shipped a solution to track the platform’s own usage and value, giving the business a clear, ongoing view of ROI rather than a one-off business case.

I managed the migration and transformation of the Travel Domain BI team, modernizing their technology stack and streamlining team processes. This initiative emphasized rigorous testing, addressing user needs, and fostering professional growth. As a result, we achieved immediate business value by encouraging team members to deepen their understanding of the business.

• Transformed the team workflow and processes: by implementing an end-to-end CI/CD pipeline, integrating DevOps and putting an emphasis to ensure that data pipeline were properly tested.
• Modernized technology stack through a migration project from a convoluted legacy SQL Server and SSIS which we replaced by Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt.
• Ensured high-quality standards for reports and solutions, prioritizing data freshness and responsiveness to user requests and needs.
• Mentored and guided junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Designed resilient and scalable data models, continuously expanding and enhancing the data estate’s capabilities.

1. Design of Power BI reports with write back capabilities, leveraging PowerApps and its custom visual which enabled the business to do the following:

• Provide Investment Managers with an intuitive way of reporting on Portfolios outside of its tramlines
• to generate data on MI than are actionable and can be automatically processed through data driven flow via the use of Power Automate (previously Microsoft Flow)

2. Create a data driven framework for our BI platform:

• Leverage the Power BI commandlets in PowerShell to retrieve and capture DMVs and information about the tenant
• Integrate that data in its own database to enable source control for each release and dynamic documentation
• Data driven processing of each data models through a PowerApps dedicated to Power BI tenant.
